In the climate here in southern Victoria, the temperature is mostly amenable throughout the year. There are some cold nights, but they aren’t to the extremes that are felt elsewhere, so the urgency behind windows that seal tightly, and prevent air transfer, hasn’t been as great.
There's no question that Melbourne can be a loud city. The constant city noise, including the trains, the trams, the cars, and the people, combine to create a constant buzz. If you're a resident here, you tend to learn how to ignore it, or live with it – to the point that the country seems unnaturally quiet. However, it can be stressful, and some of us would greatly prefer to live or sleep in a home with quieter surroundings.
